I finished the staining of the fence in the side yard today. I could not find shoe covers so I tied plastic bags over my shoes. Two coats and the fence came back to life. The stain nourishes the wood and includes a sealant to protect from winter rain and summer sun. Bob suggested allowing the bottom edge of the fence to breathe so that the painted surface does not buckle.
I want to find a bird book. A flock of red breasted birds were foraging for worms on the sidewalk strip garden. On command, the entire flock flew up into a tree. Judy tells me that robins in this country may come larger.
