I am pleased to report that I can operate light machinery without danger to myself or others. Mike Stansberry got the large weed whacker into running condition. This morning I retrieved it from the side yard and tackled the overgrowth around the vegetable garden. A great feeling of satisfaction from a small victory, just as MJ had from swapping out a toilet seat.
MJ came out and appropriated my heavy gloves when I pulled the starter. She thereby also appropriated the task of removing the tall thistle from the vegetable garden enclosure. She removed the thistle, and I turned over the first of the two raised beds. i found good workable soil under all the overgrown weeds.
Another bright sunny day and a midday departure for Oakland, learning about Mozart’s string quartet, The Hunt, as I went.
