I visited Bob Fyock in the rehabilitation section of the hospital. He was moved to Roseville Sutter Medical Center, which is all the way to hell and gone. Bob was doing well and is worth the extravagant gesture.
Sunrise Road runs south from Roseville until it intersects with the Jackson Road. South of Highway 50 the road runs through open agricultural land, mostly dark when I drove through. A magnificent harvest moon was just rising above the horizon – the moon must be almost full. As I turned east onto the Jackson Highway the moon became even bigger. As the moon rose in the sky, it eventually lost its harvest color. I turned off my lecture on the plays of Sophocles and let the moon be my companion for the lonely roads down to Ione.
