An agonized text from MJ today, complete with upper case letters and exclamation points. It was raining in Ione today. I did not grasp the significance of this fierce event until MJ reminded me that the Bermuda grass, bindweed and other invasive species will gladly take another run before the dry season comes. I usually know when MJ has found Bermuda grass and bindweed in the garden because the cry of despair echoes through the valley.
MJ remembers that each May in past years would have one week of temperatures in the nineties. No such hot week appears to be forecast for this year.
